participation.<\/h2>\n<p><b>Independent Living Services (Service Code 520)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Independent Living Services is a non-medical program that empowers adults with developmental disabilities who are transitioning to an independent or semi-independent environment. The goal is to help each Consumer reach their maximum potential while living in the most \u201cnormal,\u201d least restrictive environment possible.<\/p>\n<p>Through Independent Living Services, your loved one identifies one or more Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one supervision, training, and support. The primary objective is to help the Consumer develop and maintain the essential skills needed for independent living, as identified in their Individual Service Plan (ISP).<\/p>\n<p>Families can choose a DSP from their personal network, including family members, friends, or other trusted individuals who can provide loving and compassionate support.
