Billing & Insurance Processing
As a courtesy, Emeritus Home Care will submit claims to your insurance company when complete carrier information is provided. However, it remains your responsibility to ensure payment is received for services rendered, based on your individual policy and benefits. If your insurance company does not remit payment, you may be held responsible for any outstanding charges. Our billing team is available to work closely with both you and your insurer to ensure a smooth process.

Medicaid
Emeritus Home Care LLC accepts Medicaid through the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program (EDWP) and the Service Options Using Resources in a Community Environment Waiver (SOURCE) for qualifying patients. Under EDWP, qualified individuals may receive home or skilled nursing care at no cost or with a monthly cost-share based on income. These programs offer integrated medical and in-home services through case management agencies. To learn more about eligibility or to apply, please contact your local care coordinator or the Georgia Department of Community Health. Our team is also available to guide you through the process.
Respite Voucher Program Clients
Caring for a loved one is an incredible responsibility, and every caregiver deserves time to rest and recharge. Emeritus Home Care accepts families who are approved through the Respite Voucher Program. Our compassionate caregivers can step in to provide safe, supportive in-home care while you take a break, attend appointments, or manage personal needs.
- What is respite care? Respite care is temporary in-home support that allows a primary caregiver relief while their loved one continues to receive quality care.
- How do individuals qualify? Caregivers must contact the ADRC to be placed on the respite waitlist. The ADRC manages the intake and assessment process.
- What is the timeline? Most caregivers are advised that the waitlist is about 6–10 weeks, but depending on demand and changing needs, it may extend to 10–16 weeks. How many hours are provided? Once approved, families typically receive 40–80 hours of respite. These hours must be fully used by the deadline listed on the vendor agreement and depend on available funding.
South Carolina Community Long Term Care:
Community Long Term Care (CLTC) operates home and community-based waiver programs for persons eligible for nursing home care but who prefer to receive their services in the community. Through case management and an individualized service package, waiver clients can successfully remain at home at a cost to Medicaid substantially lower than that of institutional care. The South Carolina Community Choices Waiver provides Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) for seniors and adults who require the level of care typically provided in a nursing home. The program aims to help these persons continue living independently rather than require nursing home admission by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). ADLs are essential to day-to-day living and include bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, eating, and mobility. Furthermore, a variety of other long-term services and supports are available. These include in-home personal care assistance, home accessibility modifications, personal emergency response systems, adult day health care, and specialized medical equipment, such as a handheld shower and shower chair.
